BMT Marine & Offshore Surveys Ltd appoints Peter Broad as Client Relationship Manager

Peter BroadPeter Broad has joined the London head office team of BMT Marine & Offshore Surveys Ltd., a subsidiary of the BMT Group, and been appointed to the new position of client relationship manager. Previously, he had been with Lloyd's Register, which he joined in January 1999.

Peter Broad has extremely wide experience both at sea and ashore. His background includes an apprenticeship in composite materials in the marine industry and 10 years at sea in a number of senior engineering roles on a wide variety of vessels. This was followed by a two-year spell as a ship repair manager with A&P Group in Falmouth during which he project managed more than 200 ships under refit and repair.

He then joined Lloyd's Register and gained wide experience in Japan and Korea on LNGs and major units under construction such as main engines, boilers, main turbines, gearboxes and control systems. While based in the Okpo office of Daewoo, he was promoted to senior surveyor and project manager, in charge of survey and delivery of LNGs, tankers and bulkers.

He is a Fellow of IMarEST and a non-executive director of the International Institute of Marine Surveying, and has written two books on marine boiler new construction and marine classification surveying, respectively.

He will use this unique blend of experience as he focuses on ensuring that we manage our client expectations and requirements as we further develop across the international marine insurance markets."
